Chris is an architect with over forty years of experience in the profession and has been a partner at the multi award winning practice of Allies and Morrison for just over twenty-five years.
He has led the design of many of the practice’s key housing projects and masterplans from concept stage through to completion including early works such as Grosvenor Waterside, Barrier Park East in London and, later, the redevelopment of Highbury Stadium for Arsenal Football Club, all of which were significant in establishing the practice’s particular approach to city living and which continue to influence the design of much of the practice’s work today.
He also had a lead design role on projects such as the 2012 Olympic and Legacy masterplan and the Brent Cross Cricklewood masterplan in North London all of which had significant housing components. His more recent housing projects include masterplans at West Hendon and Good Luck Hope in London and proposals for three different waterside schemes in Chelmsford.
He has taught and lectured in architecture throughout the UK, Europe and India and has a particular connection with Finland where, earlier in his career, he lived, worked and taught architecture in Helsinki. Besides being a panel member of Essex Quality Review Panel, he is currently a chair and panel member at Design South South-east.
