Andrew McDonald

Andy McDonald is a Regional Director at Waterman Infrastructure & Environment responsible for operations in London and the Southeast, splitting his time between the London and Chelmsford offices.

The early part of Andy’s career was spent at a Local Authority within Essex working on Highway and Public Realm improvement schemes.

Andy then moved into the private sector taking an engineering infrastructure role for a Southeast based Strategic Land developer. He assisted in the delivery of the Chafford Hundred development in Thurrock, with the design and implementation of strategic infrastructure across part of the 600 acre site.

Andy has then spent the last 17 years in consultancy with a focus on Transport Planning and Infrastructure Design and a broad overview of other environmental and engineering disciplines. Having been an Essex based consultant for 15 years Andy has a strong client base in the county and has been instrumental in the delivery of a significant number of development. Such developments would include residential sites of varying scale (from strategic sites of 1000’s of dwellings down to small infill sites of just a few units), healthcare facilities (replacement Hospital, Primary Care Centres, Doctors and Dental practices), retirement and assisted living facilities, employment sites (industrial and office), retail (food and non-food) and education (new schools and extensions to existing schools). Andy has also been involved in some large scale regeneration projects such as Purfleet Regeneration consisting of 2800 new homes, retail and leisure uses as well as 2 new schools, significant employment uses and public transport hub.
