Neil Harvey


Neil manages Place Services' Natural Environment team, comprising arboriculture, ecology, and countryside management. The teams' work encompasses expert advice and surveys focused on delivering pragmatic solutions to create a better environment.

Neil has been a professional ecologist for over 20 years, with considerable experience of habitat assessment, management planning, and legally protected species survey and mitigation projects. He has particular interest in birds, being competent in a range of standard survey methodologies covering breeding birds and estuarine/wetland counts. Neil also has a good knowledge of UK invertebrates, with specialism in flies (especially, hoverflies, soldier flies, and allies), molluscs and moths, amongst other groups.
