Megan Charnley

Megan is a co-founder of Projects Office, a multi-disciplinary architecture practice based in east London. The practice’s ethos is fantastic pragmatism. Their work combines a joyful aesthetic with serious design quality, rigorous research with a generous people-centred approach, and bold ideas with fine attention to detail. They are particularly interested in projects which involve, celebrate, sustain and empower communities, at work, at play or in the city. With experience working in clinical environments, Projects Office apply a deep understanding of design for good health across their portfolio; working closely with the community to ensure every project addresses real needs, involves end users and optimises wellbeing.

Alongside work at Projects Office, Megan is currently seconded to Newham Council's Regeneration team, where she is leading a masterplanning project for large sites around the Royal Docks, developing a design strategy in line with the council’s Community Wealth Building and environmental sustainability agenda.

Having grown up in Essex and attended school in Chelmsford, Megan retains strong family ties to the area and spends many weekends on the gloriously muddy north Essex coast. She is an advocate for the county’s rich – and radical – architectural heritage.
