Gill Wynne-Williams


Gill has more than 35 years’ experience working as a landscape architect. She started her career working for local authorities in London and Essex in parks and open spaces, planning and property departments on strategic planning and construction projects. Moving in to the private sector in the 1990s, Gill lead the landscape team for Atkins in Essex undertaking a range of work for public sector clients and institutions.

She founded Wynne-Williams Associates in 2001. The practice has undertaken a wide range of works including award winning open space projects, landscape restoration, minerals and waste projects, residential development and education sector work. Whilst at WWA she regularly provided advice to planning departments and acted as a landscape expert witness at public inquiry.

Gill spent several years as a part time lecturer in design and professional practice and has been actively involved in the education and training of Landscape Architects as Chair of the Landscape Institute Professional Review Group for the Writtle University College and through her work as a visiting lecturer and student mentor.

Gill has been working in Essex for over 25 years in both private and public sector roles. Her experience covers design of a wide range of projects in open space, education, residential and minerals and waste in the County. She has written supplementary planning guidance for the County Council and regularly provides planning consultancy advice to district councils.
