Krishma Shah


Krishma is an architect with a background in the private sector designing and delivering award-winning projects in a range of sectors including higher education, healthcare and housing. As associate at Levitt Bernstein, Krishma specialised in residential design with a focus on estate regeneration and specialist housing, including housing for older people, where meaningful engagement and people-focused design were at the fore.

Since 2020, Krishma has promoted high quality urban design in the public sector, facilitating the delivery of strategic masterplan sites within Epping Forest, including three new Garden Town communities. Krishma was project lead on the Latton Priory Strategic Design Code, helping to embed healthy, sustainable and uplifting design into the planning framework for the new Garden community.

Krishma lives and works in Essex and is familiar with the challenges and opportunities for development in the County. She also contributes to raising design standards and collaboration through her role as co-chair of the Essex Planning Officers Association design officer’s network, Suffolk design review panel member and speaking at seminars including for Urban Design Learning and the Planning Advisory Service.
