Steve Walker is an architect and urbanist who has been a Director at Allies and Morrison for over 15 years.  Steve’s experience ranges from small scale projects in historic contexts through to large scale regeneration strategies, characterisation studies and design coding, predominantly for public sector clients including Essex County Council, The Crown Estate and Historic England. 

Steve’s expertise in urbanism includes significant knowledge of public realm and highway design, and he is a keen advocate for active and sustainable travel as the basis for liveable places.  Over the last decade, an increasing part of his work has been addressing the shortcomings of post-war development including re-thinking shopping centres, retail parks and areas dominated by road infrastructure as well as developing low-carbon strategies for suburban estate renewal.  

Steve has worked on a wide range of projects across Essex for more than two decades, contributing to planning policy development and delivering a range of masterplanning and architectural projects.
