Andreas Markides


Andreas Markides is a chartered civil engineer and a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE). He has a masters in Transport Planning from Imperial College and he was the President of the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation (CIHT) in 2017/2018; his Presidential theme was ‘’Creating Better Places’’. He is currently the deputy chair of the Academy of Urbanism.

Andreas founded Markides Associates, a Transport Planning and Engineering consultancy in 2016. The company now employs 30 staff and is acting for several private and public sector clients such as Countryside Properties, Land Securities, The Crown Estate, Guildford Borough Council, the Isle of Wight Council, the Duchy of Lancaster and many more.

Andreas has written for many professional journals and spoken at numerous conferences primarily regarding sustainable transport and ways to achieve better and more liveable places which are his main professional interests.
